High Commission Judge and Dissident Yahyaoui from Tunis on his way to BERLIN early:
Mokhtar Yahyaoui

Judge Mokhtar Yahyaoui in Berlin – High Commision Tunesia

W
What an exciting week ahead of us, touring Berlin with Judge Mokhtar Yahyaoui. We prepared on short notice inviting him for our Anna-Lindh-Salon:

We only know him through “friends of friends”, telephone, e-mails, web-sites and study, all in a rush in 2 weeks…. See Profile

He was at a time we were thinking about opening the Anna-Lindh-Salon at CHATHAM HOUSE in London – so this sets the grid ! He was last minute replacement for an invitation of Alexander Chiristakis – but such is life.

The member of the HIGH COMMISSION is someone who thanks AMNESTY Int. and the UN a lot and showed personal integrity and daring ! maybe see:

He is invited for our ANNA-LINDH SALON here in BERLIN – if around – check in!

Check: Links at: [link]

Some 2nd ANNA-LINDH Salons has taken place June 17-24 with a special guest from Tunis, Judge Mokhtar Yahyaoui. We will need to remember the 10th Anniversary of maybe the most critical letter he wrote in is life on July 6, 2001 to his president Ben Ali ….. and see what it has to do with the Elections in Tunesia this autumn…. See High Commission and latest news here. See also his Chatham House presentation from London 4 weeks ago. Profile/Article in French (PDF)

This is the official annoncement by the German Anna-Lindh-Network in the context of the Anna-Lindh-Foundation Alexandria travel support as part of: „Believe in Dialogue – Act for Citizenship“. Believe in Dialog Act for Citizenship

Please ask for the lecture programme between June 17-24 in Berlin and Hamburg – later Paris.

I recommend: German Arab Friendship Society event Thursday, June 23, 18:30 hrs in Berlin and this PRESS CONFERENCE June 22 for collegues.

maybe check: HeinerBenking

I am rushing to polish our website so please check and follow our site: http://tagore-einstein-council.de
Tagore and Einstein have met in Berlin twice Tagore Celebrations Berlinand it became a budding deep friedship. The convesations and much more can be found at that site. One objective is make us “Westerneers” aware that there was not only Gandhi in India, but that Gandhi had a fatherly friend! So Tagore was travelling the world after his Nobel Prize, was bridging culture and agriculture, and eduacation from kindergarten to highte educations, created a unique university,…. and and and – I hope you like to study with us not only EAST-WEST Synthesis and check around the “windrose” of orientation and reference schemas and their “harmonisation” …. http://in-betweener.org/
For In-commers into the matter I can say, he was the head of a region, all people in India still sing their song and play his music, he was a real “renaissance being” I believe he would have smiled and told us that there was more than just one Western Renaissance. I recommend the last years conference NEW RENAISSANCE 3 where the keynote by Marilyn Wilhelm was very much about this matter! Enjoy all contributions at: http://www.scimednet.org/towards-a-new-renaissance-3-harmonising-spirituality-nature-and-health-2/ but do not miss: Dr. Marilyn Wilhelm: The Cosmos is a Kinship System and please check her Wilhelm Scholê http://www.wilhelmschole.org and was recently in Berlin as she shared the same passions like Tagore: Cultures, Education, Arts, Sciences, … but enabling Education nowadays has a modern fancy name: Entrepreneuship, so she subsumed it at the Entrepreneuship Summit:

Founding a school for integrated learning – Kurzvorstellung:Marilyn Wilhelm from entrepreneurship also do check her 11 minutes presentation !! http://www.entrepreneurship.de/artikel/entrepreneurship-education-founding-learning-video/

And there is more to added to a "wind-rose" synthesis when we want to takle modern global and Media Culture&Cyberculture!! challenges!! http://benking.de/meta-paradigm.htm
and see a simple, well packed question! do we go for Show or Schau !? http://benking.de/show-schau.htm
I recommed for example the name of Ralph Siu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ralph_Siu and his Panetics Society (speakersbureau http://benking.de/isp-speakers.html), as there is a need not only for Lebenskunst – Art of Living, but also for Regierungskunst – Art of Participation, Deliberations & Governance. See Order and Orientation challenge
I believe Tagore would have seen in Ralph a “kindred spirit”. check out: TAO OF SCIENCE: http://www.newciv.org/ISSS_Primer/asem16rs.html, and the eulogies in Applying panetics: http://benking.de/applying-panetics1999.htm and this link (only in German - sorry: http://benking.de/mitgefuehl-leiden.html)
I feel the need for Orientation is in modern times paramount and crucial, maybe remember as I wrote this little story in an old annecdote in our our WHOLENESS SEMINAR some time ago: So, Who is in charge on the GLOBAL SPACEship and where are we going !? What I mention is the story of a session on the way towards the foundation session for General System Sciences in California, as it was presented by the brother of President Havel: Longing for Unified Knowledge by Ivan Havel http://www.newciv.org/ISSS_Primer/asem07ih.html

I know I need to bring Humboldt - Alexander and Wilhelm !! - and Carl Ritter and some other names into the picture as well, so maybe check below - or see some dear names for me here: www.quergeist.net or or some more content in this Blog: www.quergeist.info, or come back later..... and naturally many others - so Tagore knew he is and was not alone !

What I am aiming at? in a nutshell?, terse?, without overclaims and oversimplifications? http://benking.de/ceptualinstitute/overview.htm maybe 10001 unities in diversities http://p-n-w.net/events/1001diversities.htm but that is again oversimplistic suporting perlexity instead of digging into and living with diversity ! I can only respond by proposing some frames and shared agreements in a systemic mind/sense http://benking.de/systems/encyclopedia/newterms/ beyond the need to agree and our Dialog among Civilizations exercise some years ago. http://benking.de/dialog/dialog-among-civilizations.htm

The Cloud – or Last call / Final Calling wake-up call ?

Yesterdays neruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano called back lasting memories, a story from 1988, where in the press conference Prof. Degens from Hamburg was not ready to paint a picture of a lasting nightmare of an overheated planet or ice-age planet. (it was the major international event with Willy Brandt…. [more])
The media pushed hard but he refused to paint a nighmare scenario, as this would not be science he said roughly, the media should look back in earth history and make out there own conclusion, he only mentioned later that new might be only the degree of possible rapid change.
For people in environmental research this is obvious if we think twice, but it was for the media something they angrily commented: Scientists not telling what to expect and what is going on !
Now 22 year later this looks funny, now we know, even created possible ceilings and guard rails, as politics were more demanding than media, to have scientist do the forecast or outlook requested. But what is this IPCC knows and can predict the Future, specially when there are obviously only futures in plural and can not be predicted Neither in natural nor in social and cultural human worlds !
This is not a contrarian view ! I was reading with Ernst Ulrich von Weiszsäcker about CONTRARIANS already in the late 80ies, when he was in Bonn and Brussels, about these denying “CONTRARIANS” who refused to consider man-made impacts – on this considered stable and endless system of Planet Earth !
What an ignorance ! please see this article soon hitting the streets: “ignorance or compassion” http://benking.de/futures/ECOTHEE-ignorance-compassion.pdf or the work on GLOBAL CHANGE we introduced in late May 1990. Please wait for May 30th “Challenges to Science and Politics” touring exhibition.
At this point I can only link to the exhibition <a href="http://benking.de/Global-Change/system-earth-posters.html http://benking.de/Global-Change/system-earth-posters.html and EARTH IN TROUBLE ! http://benking.de/Global-Change/UN-climate-summit.html and check Human Dimensions and Human Responsibility with time and space horizons (Hans Jonas) http://benking.de/jonas-1993.html , as this is the time, likt with Mount StHelen where we can experience natures ! non-point polution impacts!

Why I call this piece? Last call / Final Calling ? Because I think we should follow up on this question: Do we need “New Science, new Language, new Thinking ?
HOW ABOUT? OLD and proven, traditional and NEW Thinking and Doing and Sharing ? http://quergeist.net/Peace-Laueats-Climate-Berlin-Oslo-selection.pdf

please come back later – we had challenging days these days and years and need to step back, consider deep and other questions and answers

Meanwhile follow the links and consider what the founder of this encyclopedia of systems and cybernetics said about complexity, surprise and predictability when we introduced the new edition:
http://benking.de/systems/encyclopedia/concepts-and-models.htm and maybe these concepts to consider being concrete and share common frames and schemas: http://benking.de/systems/encyclopedia/newterms/

In Santa Fe we learned that the more we study complexity, the more we are perplexed ! So let us step back, check the issues and context and not not consider we know whne we do not ! – or just need to meet at certain number to be safe and can continue to muddle trough as always, all heads deeep in the sands, fogs, dust, ashes….

Finally, what we experience today is not the last call ! Nature as icon in time has experienced much worse in times, but humanity is getting more fragile ever day, so we have to be on the watch on the proportions and consequences, the potential infliction of suffering. http://www.paneticsworldwide.org/

Wall or no-wall – anyway which and what kind of wall !!???

reporting from BERLIN 20 years after…
a lot experienced – a lot is missed …
but as as WALLS are dear to me – and how we can trancend them !!
I willa dd here later – just comming from BRANDENBURG GATE ! in Berlin

here and so late in “these times”.. I can only recommend my “favourite”! Friedrich Rückert:

Whoever imagines mental barriers
which actually do not exist
and then thinks them away, has understood the world.
As space is entrapped in geometry’s network of lines,
thought is caught in its (own) inherent laws.
Maps make the world comprehensible to us;
we are still waiting for the star-maps of the spirit.
In the same way that ambling through fields
we risk getting lost, the spirit negotiates its terrain.

Friedrich Rückert, Wisdom of

I have seen so many walls – no walls – breaking – dissolving creating nes boundaries . that I feel beside SPACE WALLS and BOUNDARIES are my field !! – so you can hear about this here later !
about my “field” I recommed my/these WHOLENESS seminar pieces:

M100 Sanssouci — Muslim Media – Muslims in the Media

Filed under: Uncategorized — Heiner Benking @ 7:12 pm

M100-logo-jpg
I just returned exhausted from an exceptional event: 5 years M 100 – Sanssouci Colloquium, Potsdam 2009
It was not just Genscher, Azouley, …. and all the big names of politics and media, but people which impressed me most like Tariq Ramadan.
I have covered Azouley and Genscher exchanges earlier, so this blog will be about the challenges raised in the final podium, where Tariq and ***, CNN where authentic and deep – beside all the other panelists and invited participants.
Important is to dig deeper into the challanges of odern media and globalisation, segregation and a “loundspeaker for noise” as one participant said. Time is short now so I need to add more on this special event later – but want you to have the latest breaking news….. specailly about Azouley and the Anna Lindh Foundations mission and potential. Please see the Press releases and come back later… http://www.m100potsdam.org/index_en.php

“Den Anderen in seinem Anderssein wollen” “To appreciate the other in his being different” was the final press release and synopsis, please study the whole site and follow the links! specially to the YOUTH MEDIA FROUM the week before !!

For me being allowed to meet such celebrities was a {link:http://mindprint.tv|lasting mindprint}, me subsuming and resonanting the old days of Culture of Peace or ME; WE OTHERS MODELS … with UNESCO, or the the Dialogues of Civilizations – which I strongly recommend. Please visit lasting {link:http://benking.de/cultures|CULTURES} or {link:http://benking.de/dialog|DIALOGUES} as I am rushing towards the {link:url|GLOBAL FUTURES CAMP}, not time to waiste…

Futures of Automation !? – Futures for our foot-, hand-, and mindprints

Filed under: Uncategorized — Heiner Benking @ 11:25 am

I am reporting today from the Daimler Annual Meeting of Daimler will be held on April 8, 2009, at the Messe Berlin, in Berlin, Germany.   For me it is like a dejy vue of topics dear to me in the nearly 80ies as a management cosnultant here at the ICC when it was just opened here in Berlin and we had the WCGA looking into visualisation and mangement, and in the early 90thwhen we were with UN stateplanners in Beijing and were discussing national and sectoral strategies for countriesand how to bring appropriate technologies for the building and transportation sectors to anchor chountries and “developing countries!

The proposals and answers have to do with the change in mindsets or metal models and attitudes, not júst footsprints, handprints, and mindprints… – and not just on how to communicate “rebound effects”. Maybe visit: www.mindprint.tv, www.open-forum.de/events/ and http://10001seeds.wordpress.com/

I feel the issue why our colleague Hualin Guo  in China did not succeed or why new and “out-of-the-box” thinking and acting – even when appealing nwords like “glocal” were created at that incident (see Manfed Lange here in the Wikipedia) and why new thinking is ignored – not attact ! and what that means for the much needed “old&new thinking“.
